It was awesome! The sushi were fresh and delicious. Definitely come back next time strongly recommend the unagi oshi and torched salmon belly
It was delicious experience. We tried unagi batera and house roll. Their house roll is really huge. It's impossible to pick up without because it falling apart. Also tried their edamame and wacame. Food is pretty good
One of my favorite sushi place in burnaby! Sushi is fresh, big cuts, owned by Japanese chef!! Downside is that there ain’t a lot of fish choices but is good enough.
Been awhile since we’ve been back to Sushi Bar Kilala. Great quality and still run by the same Japanese couple. Grabbed takeout on a busy Saturday. Made our own party tray; unatama (7.25), negi saba shiso (7.25), dynamite (6.25), negitoro (5.25), negihama (5.25), California (5.25), umeshiso (4.25) and kanpyo (4.00). Also ordered salmon sashimi (21.75), saba battera (15.50) and chicken udon (11.50). Sushi was fresh and satisfying. Favourites were the negitoro and unatama. Saba roll/pressed sushi were also fantastic.
Wow, what a hidden gem in Burnaby - Sushi Bar Kilala is a cozy, authentic Japanese restaurant. I visited recently because of all the positive reviews and got a small to-go order. I can't wait to return to Kilala! Sushi was fresh, Sushi rice had the perfect texture and seasoning and the staff were very polite. 5 stars!
We came here for dinner on a snow day right at 4:30pm when they opened. Nobody else came in to dine with the roads being so terrible. There were some take out orders which happened while we were there so I was happy that the couple had some business. It was our first time eating here and everything we had was very fresh and tasty. The spicy salmon roll is the best I have ever had here at this restaurant! The sashimi salad was surprisingly really nice. The salad dressing and fresh greens really complimented the fresh seafood. I will definitely be eating here again.
We ate here after a hike, and I got to say this sushi place is outstanding! We had Dynamite roll, Salmon nigiri, Unagi nigiri, Kilala House roll, Salmon maki and Tamago nigiri. The dynamite roll and the salmon nigiri was alright, but the unagi nigiri and Tamago nigiri were the best. Unagi nigiri melted in my mouth and the Tamago nigiri was so sweet and tasty. I would recommend unagi nigiri.
Such a lovely hole in the wall authentic Japanese Sushi place LOVED the Saba battera and unagi roll and the Kilala combo was good value too :) The smoked salmon and creamcheese roll was a nice twist too! We couldn't try out the uni nigiri and the negitoro that we wanted because they were sold out but will definitely make another visit
